WHOO HOO!!! Silly Bus was so excited to perform at the Carpenter Theater. The event on March 3rd kicked off the Mind Wide Open campaign in Virginia celebrating children and the arts. We were honored to be chosen to play at the event and celebrate all day Saturday the 3rd – especially in the Carpenter Theater!

Here we are setting up on the huge stage. You can learn more about the Carpenter Theater here – it was fully restored over the last few years and has this wonderful old world feel.

We played two shows and there was a great turn out to the event. We hope you were able to make it out and participate in all of the other activities provided by Richmond CenterStage.

The LightsUp! event kicked off the larger state wide initiative, Minds Wide Open, to celebrate children and the arts. You can learn more about that here.

We hope you had a wonderful time Saturday – we loved playing this event and look forward to seeing you at our next show. We kickoff the VA 529 Event on March 31st, part of the larger famous Monument 10K.

See you soon!

Hi fans,

We are very excited that our new video is up on YouTube, we hope you really enjoy it. Wheels on the Bus is a classic song, and it was so much fun making it into a video with the Silly Bus and all our classic children’s characters on our new album.

The song was originally from a British song, Here we go around the mulberry bush, but became Wheels on the Bus in the American version.

So go take a trip on the Silly Bus and see where we drive in our new video!

Stay Silly,

Silly Bus

Making a Difference:

Thanks so much to our fans for helping make a difference in the lives of children in Africa. We raised over a hundred dollars for the charity Project Peanut Butter. That is enough to help feed two children for a year – it is amazing what a small amount of money can do.

Launching “Wheels on the Bus” video:

Silly Bus is thrilled to launch our latest video Wheels on the Bus, check it out here.

The video is fun and entertaining, you can even see the windshield wipers go swish, swish, swish.

NPR News:

Also, Mr. Justin and Mr. John were on NPR with the Cookie Monster and Big Bird – wow!!!

We hope you are having an awesome time getting ready for Thanksgiving. In case you missed it before – here are the lyrics to the best thanksgiving song ever :) Turkey Time! Available in iTunes too!

It’s turkey time
It’s turkey time

It’s the time of year
My family is all here
It’s turkey time

Time to give thanks
And to feast on food and drink
It’s turkey time

This day is called Thanksgiving
Let’s say thanks for all that we were given
Let’s join together holding hands
And show our love for our family and friends

In Plymouth colony
There were hungry mouths to feed
It’s turkey time

The natives brought some meat
And they grew some crops to eat
It’s turkey time

It came about this way
That they made a holiday
It’s turkey time

This day is called Thanksgiving
Let’s say thanks for all that we were given
Let’s join together holding hands
And show our love for our family and friends

This day is called Thanksgiving
Let’s say thanks for all that we were given
Let’s join together holding hands
And show our love for our family and friends

It’s turkey time
It’s turkey time..

This week is also Fire Prevention & Safety week – below are some tips to keep in mind.

Fire Safety Checklist: http://dc.about.com/od/publicsafety/a/FirePrevention.htm

  • Install and maintain a working smoke alarm outside of every sleep area and remember to change the battery at least once a year.
  • Designate two escape routes from each bedroom and practice them regularly.
  • Teach everyone the “Stop, Drop, and Roll” technique in case clothing catches on fire.
  • Avoid storing old mattresses in the home or garage.
  • Teach kids that matches, lighters and candles are tools, not toys. If you suspect that a child is playing with fire, check under beds and in closets for telltale signs like burned matches. Matches and lighters should be stored in a secure drawer or cabinet.

Take care,

Silly Bus
